Mechanical Fitter

Mechanical Fitter – South Crofty Mine, Pool, Cornwall

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to carry out general preventative maintenance, repairs and statutory checks on our fixed and mobile plant across the surface site and active underground workings. 

The successful candidate will have completed a relevant apprenticeship or training qualification and have a broad engineering knowledge including maintenance of electro-hydraulic systems, pumps, light and heavy plant, vehicles, some computer-use skills, welding and machining skills (lathe, mill etc.)

You will be required to work both on the surface and in the underground environment. The Mechanical Fitter will be required to operate hand tools and mobile plant such as telehandlers, Land Rovers and other underground mining equipment, as well as working with their hands.
