Our Mission Statement:
To bring responsible tin mining to Cornwall for the benefit of our stakeholders, and to sustainably supply a critical metal to the clean energy transition in the UK and beyond.
Our work on the South Crofty underground tin project and our wider exploration activities in Cornwall is founded on a responsible approach to developing these critical mineral assets, centred on respect for our neighbouring communities and environment, our employees and our business partners. This approach was formalised with the establishment of our Board Sustainability Committee, to provide leadership in the direction and implementation of our sustainability programme, launched in early 2023.
For Cornish Metals, operating sustainably encompasses our efforts to act with integrity across the business, assess and manage risk, minimise our environmental and social impacts and identify opportunities to make a positive contribution to the local environment, communities and economy. We also recognise the importance of transparent and robust health and safety, environmental, social and governance (ESG) disclosure to all interested parties, including our investors. We have committed to a set of guiding principles for the integration of ESG into our business, outlined in our Sustainability and ESG Policy.
Our growing in-house team has made significant progress in this past year, systematically building a firm foundation for our sustainability programme.
Our materiality assessment findings will guide how we prioritise sustainability-related topics for management focus and reporting and will underpin our developing sustainability strategy and ESG management framework. We will continue to share details of our approach and progress as the South Crofty project evolves.
